National Life Chain Day

On October 2nd, thousands of pro-life people around the country will be united together in solidarity with the preborn through Life Chains.

A Life Chain is a prayerful, peaceful demonstration of pro-life individuals standing and praying for an end to abortion. Usually, this involves a person leading the group in prayer, and participants are encouraged to hold signs as a witness. A Life Chain is a good way for people of all ages to participate in the pro-life movement in their communities!

Step 1

Before the Event:

  1. Locate a local Life Chain event at LifeChain.org. If there are no local events happening, you can sign up to lead one!
  2. Create pro-life signs with encouraging messaging. Feel free to use some of the ideas below:

Outreach to Mothers:

  • Your story matters. You matter.
  • You are loved.
  • We love you.Ā Ā
  • You are strong. You are beautiful. You are not alone.
  • Pregnant? You are not alone.
  • Pregnant? You are not alone. Call (Pregnancy Resource CenterĀ number) to discuss your options.

Outreach to the Community:

  • Abortions are happening here.
  • Pray to end abortion.
  • I regret lost fatherhood.
  • I regret my abortion.
Step 2

Invite!

  1. Reach out to your student group, other like-minded groups, local friends, family, and fellow pro-life leaders to join you. Make sure that you give them the details and ask them to help you be a prayerful voice for the voiceless.
  2. Ask people that are committed to coming to also recruit people to join you.Ā Ā
Step 3

During the Life Chain

  1. Be sure to follow local laws and remain on the sidewalk by the abortion facility or intersection at your Life Chain location.
  2. Set aside time for silent or personal prayer time.
  3. If anyone protests at your event, do not engage. Remember that a Life Chain is meant to be peaceful and prayerful. If anyone threatens your safety, gather your attendees to a safe area and call law enforcement.
